Yet again another month has flown by. This month was a bit more challenging for Daddy and I in the sleep department, but still so enjoyable. You have your first tooth! After finally getting back to sleeping through the night, this tooth totally messed you up. A few nights in a row you were up screaming! Frozen teethers were certainly your friend. Then right as the tooth stuff was calming down, you got an ear infection. More nights of screaming. Honestly, I think these nights were harder than when you were a newborn! We just felt so bad for you because there wasn't much we could do. Then, the antibiotics gave you diarrhea and a severe diaper rash (like bleeding blisters) so diaper changes were frequent and painful...for both of us. Needless to say, I think you screamed more this month than the first 8 months combined. Poor baby. But (knock on wood) I think we are finally over the ear infection and diaper rash. Now we are just working to break your habit of waking once a night, hoping you will figure it out soon! Until then, I am enjoying sleepy snuggles with you in the rocking chair. You are not crawling yet, but scooting around on your tummy. Life is about to get harder! Ha! You often lunge for the floor when we are holding you because you want to get down! Speaking of lunging, you have become quite Mommy-attached and stranger-averse, reaching and crying for me when someone else has you. If I can get out of your sight, you will usually settle down and forget. But if I walk by you and don't take you, man you are mad! You reach for Daddy too which is so sweet. And Gammie probably doesn't want me to say this, but you reached for Bozzy one time when she had you! :) You have started pulling a blanket over your head and playing peek-a-boo! It is the most adorable thing you started doing all on your own. You did it at pom practice the other day and the girls just thought it was too cool. I'll have to post a video of you doing that. You are still super chatty and we love to listen to you jabber. And I should mention that even with all the screaming this month, you were still the happiest baby during the day! Diaper changes and night time were the only screaming times. I was actually surprised that you could be so happy with an ear infection! You are still the smiliest baby and we love it. You are really enjoying your johnny jump-up now, jumping and spinning. You are really good on your feet. I think if you had a walker, you would be all over the place. We went for your 9 month check-up last week and you were 17 lbs 7 oz and 27.5 in long, 25th and 46th percentiles respectively. You are a petite little thing! But my arm muscles don't mind that much. :) You are doing SO well with baby food, loving any combination of meat and vegetables. Still not much of a fruit fan, but I can sneak it into your cereal. We are starting finger foods now and excited to see how you do with that! Technically it was after your 9 month birthday, but you started waving! We skyped with Bozzy and Gammie the other night and you would. not. stop. waving. It was sooooo fun! You have also started sticking your tongue out a lot which is really comical. We probably won't be encouraging that one too much though. Ha! And as I write this, you are sitting on the floor with your remote control that plays music and bobbing your head back and forth to it! Can we say adorable?! You are too much fun! It seems I have written a novel so I will stop now. Haven Jane, you are an absolute JOY and keep us smiling and laughing all day long. We are loving every minute of being your Mommy and Daddy and seriously can't get enough of you... if you can't tell. :) We love you so much!
