Haven's 1st Trip to the Zoo!

One of Russell's normal days off are Wednesdays, so since the 4th fell on a Wednesday this year the Y so graciously gave him Tuesday off too!  We weren't expecting an extra day off so when we found out about it we figured we had to do something extra fun to celebrate. :)  So we took Haven to the zoo!  And turns out Tuesdays are half price so we lucked out even more!  We lathered on the sunscreen and got there shortly after they opened to beat the heat as best we could.  Haven LOVES being outside so she was a happy camper!  I'm not sure how aware she was of most of the animals, but as you'll see she did do some "ooh"-ing and pointing at a few of them.  It was a great day and so nice to have some family time outside of the house.  A much needed little excursion for this family of 3!

Lastly, the carousel!  I don't know if it was the heat, tired, hungry, lots of strange fake animals with poles going through them or what, but she was not a fan of the carousel.  Maybe one day!

A couple hours was all we could stand in this OK heat!  But we call Haven's 1st trip the zoo a success!  Many more trips in the future, I'm sure!  And more than likely on cheap Tuesdays! :)
